The “Supplementary Provisions to the ‘Radio and Television Advertising Broadcast Management Rules'” was passed at the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television administration meeting of 21 November 2011, is hereby promulgated, and takes effect on 1 January 2012.

Supplementary Provisions to the ‘Radio and Television Advertising Broadcast Management Rules’

 

In order to implement the “Central Committee of the Chinese Communist party Decision Concerning Some Great Issues in Deepening Cultural Structural Reform and Promoting the Grand Development and Grand Flourishing of Socialist Culture”, persist in putting social interest first, give full rein to the function of radio and television organs in setting up public cultural service systems, raise public cultural service levels, guarantee the people’s basic cultural rights and interests, the following supplementary provisions are made to the “Radio and Television Advertising Broadcast Management Rules” (State Administration of Radio, Film and Television Decree no. 61):

 

I, Article 17 is revised as: “when broadcasting television dramas, it is prohibited to insert advertising in any way in the middle of episodes (to be calculated as 45 minutes). When broadcasting films, inserting advertising is implemented with reference to the previous stipulation.”

 

II, Article 18 is deleted.

 

III, These supplementary provisions take effect on 1 January 2012.

 

Furthermore, corresponding adjustments and revisions are made to a part of the text of the “Radio and Television Advertising Broadcast Management Rules” (State Administration of Radio, Film and Television Decree no. 61) on the basis of these provisions.
