GAPPRFT Spokesperson States that Control is Implemented Over Singing-Type Competition Programmes to Provide Rich and Varied Television Programmes to Audiences
A spokesperson of the General Administration of Press, Publications, Radio, Film and Television has stated that, since this year, the quantity of singing-type comptition programmes nationwide has clearly increase, on the basis of opinions of the broad audiences, in order to avoid the duplication of identical television programme forms, in order to provide even better viewing choices ofr audiences and satisfy the popular masses’ diversified television culture needs, GAPPRFT will implement quantity ocntrol and broadcast dispersion control measures of this kind of television programmes.
The spokesperson stated that, starting now, all comprehensive satellite channels may not put new singing-type competitio nprogrammes into production for the duration of the control period; programmes that have not yet started airing will be postponed and reasonably arranged, avoiding the summer vacation broadcasting peak; the broadcast time of programmes that have already started airing is adjusted, so that broadcast times are staggered, in order to avoid that similar kinds of programme are broadcast in one clum.
The spokesperson stressed that all television media must consciously ensure that the Centre’s “Eight Rules” are reflected in programme production, they must strictly avoid extravagance and excess, guard against dazzling packaging, and guard against flirtatious showing-off. GAPPRFT will expand its encouragement and support for originally created television programmes that stick close to reality, stick close to life and stick close to the masses. All television stations shall work hard to upgrade the ideological content, value orientation, auesthetic level and indigenous innovation of programmes, and strive to offer television programmes that are varied in form, rich and diverse to television audiences.
